Meet Our Team

  • Sabine Schubert

Sabine has been teaching, coaching and facilitating groups for her entire adult life and feels incredibly blessed to do work that she loves. She has worked with diverse populations - including corporate directors, school peer leaders, youth at risk, church boards and teachers.

She loves being outdoors and sharing that with others, whether it is a school teambuilding program, an orienteering hike, ski coaching or mountain biking. Sabine believes in the power of outdoor adventure learning to help people better understand and appreciate one another and gain a deeper understanding of one’s own strengths. Her experience in understanding your team goals helps to shape the content and activities of the programs that you book for your company, school and teams.

  • Anna Rolando

A scientist and teacher, Anna has combined her teaching skills with her love of the outdoors to become one of our senior facilitators. She has been active in outdoor adventure education for over a decade. She believes that the outdoors is the perfect classroom and inspires the best in individuals.

In addition to adventure programming, Anna has designed science and ecology based programs for various groups. An avid canoe competitor, hiker and rock climber, she enjoys seeing the “light bulbs” go on with the participants in her groups. She loves the results when groups identify one another’s strengths and skills and apply these to the problem solving activities that are presented; that in the end they see what they are capable of. She believes these self-revelations can be applied to every facet of their lives.

  • Peggy Daly

Peggy is a fourth generation camp director for an all-girls summer camp located in the beautiful hills of northern New Jersey. Adventure education is in her DNA. Thousands of campers and hundreds of camp counselors have gleaned knowledge, wisdom and insight from her guidance and teaching. Peg has an uncanny ability to both encourage and identify areas for growth, with a smile and belief in individuals’ potential.

Peg feels so incredibly lucky that she gets to work with young people in a unique environment to grow their self understanding and self esteem. She believes the skills they learn in the adventure programs are concrete life skills that participants will take with them to enhance all areas of their lives. In addition to adventure educator, Peg is a sought after holistic health practitioner.

  • Meg Daly

Meg was raised by two incredible team building facilitators in an environment that put her outside of her comfort zone often, looking for creative solutions regardless of the barriers that seemingly existed, and communicate effectively when things weren’t working. This experience has given her the ability to teach those same skills to the students that she works with.

Her degree in psychology gives her insight to identify with kids of all populations. She loves helping youth see the world abstractly and better themselves whether it be at summer camp as their horseback riding instructor or at a team building ropes courses. Her favorite thing about being a facilitator is watching a group grow, reach for concepts that build strong character, and mostly, attempt a group problem solving activity, fail, and then build each other up, look outside the box and succeed. It brings so much value to her life to see the outdoor activities shift youth/young adults’ focus to better themselves, and ultimately, our world.

  • Pieter Hoek

Pieter enjoys teaching others how to become more open and inspired individuals in order to achieve their goals. Having studied sports management in the Netherlands, he learned valuable communication skills that he uses to encourage people, as well as reinforce the positive behaviour that allows them to succeed.

He enjoys working with many different populations, however, his specialty is in helping sports teams identify and build their culture. He enjoys meeting with coaches, captains and teams to assess their current culture and learning goals. He then designs and delivers programs to turn those goals into newly formed strengths and behaviours.

Pieter enjoys playing soccer, supporting his favourite teams, mountain biking, and time with friends, all of which remind him to find passion in the things he loves. He uses humour, fun, and respect to bring out the best in the people that he works with.

  • Carl Mabry

Carl’s background as recreation program leader in a correctional facility has given him much experience and insight in working with young adults and adults. He also has been an activity therapist for a mental health inpatient unit. He has combined those professional experiences with his love for teaching and the outdoors to become an adventure facilitator.

As a coach, and a long time referee for five different sports at the high school level, Carl has been a student and teacher of what it takes to be a great team. Cooperation, compromising, supporting roles, team leadership, and communication on the field - both in sports and in the adventure education setting translates to life. He can help groups see when they are working well together to problem solve, and encourage groups to identify where they can do even better.

In his off time, Carl enjoys mountain biking and road biking, and practices yoga to stay flexible, strong and centered.

  • Beth Heinzelmann

Beth has several degrees in early childhood education and special education along with multiple specialty certifications including Tell A Peer. She has 17 years teaching experience. Whether teaching in a classroom, homeschooling her three children or facilitating an outdoor teambuilding program, Beth always brings creativity and fresh ideas to our program content. Her passion to the job as no other.

Beth loves being an outdoor adventure facilitator because of the hands on interaction she has with the students. She enjoys having a front row seat watching participants overcome fears and anxiety in trying new tasks and solving problems with their fellow students. She values the amazing group of peers she gets to work with at Out On A Limb.

  • Taylor McQuade

Taylor has been in camp ministry all his life, having grown up in a family-run day camp. That environment, as a lifelong camper and then counselor, taught him strong work ethics and gave him incredible opportunities to interact with many facilitators and learn from their years of wisdom. He has been a camp counselor at a summer Christian day camp for 9 years and recently became the Assistant Director, and is known for his high levels of energy and excitement.

Taylor has an adventurous spirit that spills over into the groups he works with. Being outside in the mountains, whether skiing, hiking, climbing, or biking are some of his favorite free time activities to do. He especially enjoys designing and building adventure courses, and running high ropes courses. One of his favorite things about being a team building facilitator is helping kids push past their comfort zone and overcome fears. He also enjoys teaching kids about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the truth of God’s word and the encouragement that is found in it.

  • Tim Dumont

Tim loves seeing young people discover hidden strengths and develop leadership skills. That is why he has been working and volunteering with youth for 20 years in many different roles. As camp counselor, a youth pastor, and as a camp director he has the experience and wisdom to make him a highly effective facilitator. He feels that two of the most important tools when working with youth are trust and humor which he is a master of creating with his groups. Tim’s charisma and approachability energizes groups to step up to higher levels of self awareness and mutual respect.

Considered a "Jack of all trades", when he isn't working with youth you might find him making furniture, playing piano at church, or cooking a delicious dinner for his wife Amanda and son Robbie.
